At BRM, education does not end within the four walls of the school campus. Rich and varied learning experiences are given to our kids through regular reach out programs which are organised into three major areas-
1. Awareness Programs: BRM students actively participate in various awareness campaigns initiated by various governments, local bodies and the school.
2. Learning Programs: This includes various study trips to places of educational and entertainment value, community surveys, field studies, office visits etc., which are scheduled during regular intervals considering the age and scholastic needs of the learners.
3. Charity Programs: BRM encourages values like compassion and empathy among the students and various charity programs are arranged either independently or in joint conjunction with local bodies to promote this. We mark the death anniversary of one of the founders of our School- Smt. Bhavani Raghavan Pillai as Charity Day on 10th December. Through the Sandhwanam Program, we distribute food kits to bedridden people monthly. This is done hand in hand with the Palliative Care Unit of Local Government. Students are encouraged to celebrate their birthdays meaningfully by contributing to BRM Birthday Charity Fund. Such students are recognized during assembly. We also respond to calls from various governments during various calamities.
BRM marked this years Charity Day with a variety of charitable initiatives. Six poor families were helped with an aid of Rs.10000 each simply from the contributions of our students, and food items were delivered to six different charitable organisations.
Sandhwanam: A program of providing monthly food kits for bedridden people was inaugurated on 22nd January 2016 by providing food kits to 10 families. Every month BRM children would visit their homes and hand in the food kits. The fund for “Sandhwanam” is from students’ contribution during their birthdays and through class money box collections. We appeal to the parents to make each and every family occasion memorable by contributing an amount to the BRM “Sandhwanam” fund. With coordinated work we can extend our helping hand to more families.
